About CFY-New York City
New York City was CFY's birthplace and remains the location of our national headquarters—sharing an office suite with its local arm— CFY-New York City.
CFY-NYC served 230 families through
Take IT Home in 1999 and last year (2007-2008) served more than 2,400 families. In this academic year, CFY plans to expand Take IT Home by 200 families, serving 2,600 families total.
CFY-New York City has been conducting
teacher training on a small scale for many years. We recently were selected as a professional development vendor by the New York City Department of Education and now plan to scale our services significantly over the coming years.
New York City is also where CFY launched its
Student Software Team in 2005. Our goal now is to extend the Team's work over additional months of the year and lay the groundwork to replicate this successful program in our other cities.
By the 2010-2011 academic year, CFY expects to be running New York City operations with a full-time staff of 11+, and an annual budget of more than $3M.
