NEW YORK (AP) Bow Wow likes computers—and wants inner-city
youth to have them, too.
So the 16-year-old rapper
was set to perform a concert Wednesday for Computers for Youth, a New York-based
nonprofit organization. The free concert at Bryant Park in midtown Manhattan
was to include an announcement of a financial donation by Bow Wow, organizers
said.
"Anyone
who knows me knows how much time I spend on computers," Bow Wow said in
a statement Monday. "I'm a computer addict. Every young person deserves
to have a computer in his or her home. It's also cool that CFY will
also
make sure that they learn how to use them."
Computers
for Youth provides computers, training, Internet access, e-mail accounts,
ongoing technical support and tailored Web content to students and teachers
in selected public middle schools in New York City.
Bow
Wow's new album, "Unleashed," will be released next month.
