Dan Dolgin,
Chair
Formerly head of the New York office of the law firm McDermott, Will & Emery, Mr. Dolgin is now engaged in private investing activity, primarily with development-stage businesses, as an outside general counsel and financial advisor. Mr. Dolgin graduated from Columbia College and Columbia Law School.
Doug Borchard
Mr. Borchard is Chief Operating Officer and a partner at New Profit, Inc., a national venture philanthropy fund that helps social entrepreneurs grow their social innovations to scale. Previously, Mr. Borchard was a Vice President at Dun & Bradstreet, which he joined after their acquisition of iMarket, Inc., a software company that he co-founded. Mr. Borchard has also worked as a management consultant at Bain & Company, and as a program officer with Save the Children. Mr. Borchard holds a BS in Engineering from Princeton, and an MBA from Stanford.
Peter Campbell
Mr. Campbell is a partner at Generation Partners, a private equity firm with extensive expertise in information technology. Prior to joining Generation Partners, he worked in general management at Colgate Palmolive. Mr. Campbell had previously worked closely with media and technology firms at Burr, Egan, Deleage, a leading media-focused venture capital firm. Mr. Campbell is a graduate of Middlebury College and Harvard Business School.
Dillon Cohen
Mr. Cohen is co-founder of The Carlin Group, a venture capital fund that invests in technology start-ups. Previously, Mr. Cohen worked for the Clearpool-Sponsors for Educational Opportunity Partnership and the Institute for Learning Technologies at Columbia University. In these jobs he built computer networks in New York City public schools, taught computing to elementary school students, and created wide area networks and web services. A graduate of Stanford University, Mr. Cohen has directed an art gallery and worked as a private art dealer.
Holly Delany Cole
Ms. Cole is the Deputy Director (Programs) of Community Resources Exchange, a nonprofit consulting firm that brings management know-how to New York City nonprofit organizations. Ms. Cole has worked with a number of human service organizations in such roles as administrator, program developer, intern and counselor. She was a member of the program staff of the New York Community Trust from 1982-1989. Ms. Cole also co-staffed the start-up of the National Funding Collaborative on Violence Prevention. Ms. Cole holds a BSW from Adelphi and an AM from the University of Chicago.
Betsy Fader
As Director of Strategy and Planning at the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, Ms. Fader oversees strategic planning, communications and evaluation. She also assists with developing program strategies. Previously, Ms. Fader worked for six years as the Executive Director of Student Pugwash, the junior arm of the Pugwash Conferences on Science and World Affairs. A graduate of Vanderbilt University, with a masters in Education and Social Policy from Harvard, Ms. Fader served for four years on Vanderbilt’s Board of Trustees and is listed in Who’s Who in America.
Eric Gural
Mr. Gural is the Senior Managing Director of Newmark & Company, Inc.—one of the nation’s largest independent real estate companies. Mr. Gural joined Newmark and Company more than a decade ago, first working in commercial real estate. Now he supervises Newmark's offices on Manhattan’s West Side and handles the leasing and management of approximately 2.5 million square feet. Eric is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York and the Young Men's/Women's Real Estate Association. Mr. Gural attended Union College.
Jason Hirschhorn
Mr. Hirschhorn is President of the Entertainment Group at Sling Media, Inc. Prior to joining Sling Media, he was a Founding Partner at TripleH Media Advisors, a digital media consultancy. Before TripleH, Jason was Chief Digital Officer at MTV Networks. At MTV Networks, Jason was responsible for the company's digital media businesses and interactive strategy. Hirschhorn joined MTV Networks in March 2000 via the acquisition of his company, Mischief New Media, a leading web site design and content development firm he founded to serve the entertainment industry. Mr. Hirschhorn has a BS in International Business and Marketing from New York University's Stern School of Business.
Elizabeth A. McGee
Ms. McGee is a nonprofit leader with over thirty-five years of experience in education, youth services, and reproductive health. Ms. McGee recently co-founded High Impact Partnering, a non-profit organization management consulting company. Previously she was the Senior Program Officer at the Academy for Educational Development where she served as the first director of the National Service-Learning Partnership. A graduate of Smith College and Columbia University's School of Public Health, she returned to Columbia University as a Revson Fellow in 1989-1990.
Brad Palmer
Mr. Palmer is Managing Partner of Palm Ventures, an entrepreneurial investment firm focused on building companies which have a positive and transformative impact on society in the education, human resources, health care and renewable energy sectors. Prior to founding Palm Ventures, Mr. Palmer was a Senior Associate with James D. Wolfensohn, Incorporated. Mr. Palmer is a graduate of Indiana University and the Wharton School.
Richard Plepler
Mr. Plepler is co-president of HBO. After graduating from Franklin and Marshall College, Mr. Plepler served as an aide to Senator Christopher Dodd of Connecticut, founded and headed a communications consulting and production firm, RLP Inc., and produced several TV documentaries for Public Television. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
Leslie Tortora Sillcox
Ms. Sillcox served as the Chief Information Officer of Goldman Sachs and as a member of the Management Committee before retiring in 2001. After joining Goldman Sachs in 1984, Ms. Sillcox provided technology leadership for most divisions of the firm. In 1994, she became responsible for their global technology efforts. She became a partner in 1992 and a managing director in 1996. Ms. Sillcox is a graduate of Trinity College.
